Bark Control: Much Easier Than It Seems

If you have a dog, be prepared to hear a fair share of barking, because that’s how dogs relate to the world. Having said so, dog owners have the responsability to train their dogs to reduce their barking to a pace that’s acceptable in the area where they live. When there is excessive barking that is not related to illnesses, dogs will transform from adorable pets and companions to bothersome, annoying animals. For that very reason, bark control is an important part of any home dog’s training. Companies have detected this need a long time ago, and they have come up with several bark control products that can make training easier for both owner and dog.
The Anti Bark Training Collar
If you’re on the look out for anti bark solutions that don’t involve hiring a trainer, then the anti bark collar is the solution for you. With the existence of several models of collars that use different methods of correction, you will always find one that will suit your dog’s personality, as well as your pocket. The range of collars in the market is so wide that it satisfies everyone’s needs.
Shock collars have given consistent results for a long time, but unfortunately for their manufacturers, many people think that the shock is similar to the electrical shocks they see on TV, while it’s actually more like the static you get when you handle fabric.
If you feel a little wary about the shock dog collar you can always try a harmless one that is just as effective such as the citronella dog bark collar. This collar uses a microphone to sense when the dog is barking and when it does, a small spray of citronella shoots out. The citronella smell, in case you don’t know, is the same smell that is used to repel mosquitoes.
The biggest selling point of the citronella collar is that it eliminates the need of electrical shocks, in case you object to them, while at the same time, being effective in reducing excessive barking.
Training School
The dog collars are a great example of a method of bark control that really works. However, if you are in the market for something else you may want to try taking your dog to obedience classes. If you don’t mind the cost, or your dog seems to be specially stubborn and resists collar training, then a dog school is probably your last and best option.
Just remember to keep the bark control collar on them afterwards so they still remember not to bark
In general, bark control collars are usually programmed so you can turn them off. It’s recommended that you do this to give your dog a rest, or to let him bark at intruders at night.
